Environment
Climate justice, heat stress and public spaces are central themes in my research. To what extend are local climate measures taken to adapt to climate change equal for all residents?Â
Taking a social approach, this PhD research builds on existing studies by examining the potential for heat adaptation in public spaces in the context of climate justice. By considering equal opportunities for access to public space for climate adaptation, it adds a new dimension to discussions about justice, aiming for an inclusive and just city.
Research question
How does the adaptation of the public space to heat stress contribute to local climate justice, particularly in terms of equality, safety, and security for residents of different ages and genders?
