Mobility

I am currently involved in the “Gendered Mobilities” project with Professor Anna Nikolaeva. Our research explores how mobility planning’s epistemic regime perpetuates gender-insensitivity, identifying its blind spots and silences and analyzing their persistence in shaping planning practices. Using case studies from Barcelona, Santiago de Chile, and Amsterdam, we examine how this regime varies across contexts and investigate strategies to foster greater gender sensitivity in mobility planning. We are conducting interviews with key actors, including activists, policymakers, technical staff from planning institutions, and researchers, with the goal of drawing lessons that inform the transformation of mobility planning practices and policies to make them more inclusive.
