The conference will be the first international event to address spatial issues (across disciplines) from a degrowth perspective. It has been organized by a collective of engaged scholars. It is open to both scholars and activists from different background.
You can find all conference details including submission instructions here. Additionally you can find a flyer that we hope you can disseminate to scholars, colleagues, comrades, friends, activists and others who may be interested to join. You can also find contact details for the organizers.
The organizers of the conference will select the contributions, and after the conference we will produce a book with a selected number of these contributions.
Contributions should:
Explicitly engage with one of the two themes explained on the website:
Tools for thought, or Tools for action
Explain the critique, contribution and positionality relative to existing approaches in degrowth studies
Be a maximum of 700 words and include three keywords. Upload contributions using the submit link on the website.
Preliminary schedule
Abstract submission deadline: 1 December 2025
Communication of acceptance to the conference: 1 February 2026
Deliver contribution draft (4,000-5,000 words) deadline: 1 September 2026
