Governance

I work at the Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency (PBL) which carries out independent policy-oriented research for the national government. In addition to my own projects on topics as diverse as city centers, wind turbines, EU policy impact, city deals and retail, I’m also helping coordinate a research programme on spatial and regional governance. I am the ESPON contact point for the Netherlands, a European research program on territorial development and cohesion. I have also participated in various ESPON projects, including the SUPER project on sustainable urbanization. At UvA, I supervise MA theses and teach the Planning Theory and Practice class, which focuses on the science/policy interface.
